WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. — A traffic stop in Wayne County resulted in the arrest of a man, as well a drug and gun seizure.

The stop was made in the Fort Gay area Monday by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit. The unit made the stop to arrest a passenger for drug-related warrants.

Kyler Messer, of Louisa, who was another passenger in the vehicle during the stop, was seen hiding items from authorities.

When searched, Messer was found with methamphetamine and fentanyl hid in his underwear.

In addition, officers seized five handguns, a suppressor, money, and multiple magazines from Messer. The handguns and suppressor were located in the trunk of the vehicle.

Messer is now charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver heroin, as well as five counts of carrying a concealed weapon under the age of 21.

An investigation is ongoing.
