CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A West Virginia man was killed in Gallia County, Ohio Thursday night and a juvenile charged in the death was arrested in Kanawha County.
The Gallia County Sheriff’s Department said Kyle Foltz, 20, of Mathias, West Virginia (Hardy County) was shot and killed at Sun Valley Drive apartment complex in Green Township.
Gallia County authorities alerted the Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies that a juvenile suspect in the shooting was believed to be headed to Cross Lanes. Deputies found the car at the Motel 6 on Goff Mountain Road early Friday morning.They waited for a bench warrant from Ohio and then moved to make the arrest, the department said.
“Deputies then called the suspect out of the motel room, and he was taken into custody without further incident,” according to a Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department news release.
The juvenile will appear for an extradition hearing.
The juvenile’s name hasn’t been released.
