CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A Cross Lanes man has been hit with multiple felonies for his involvement in a 2023 robbery.
Camri Calrissian White, 25, of Cross Lanes, was convicted Thursday of robbery, discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The robbery took place on July 11, 2023, and evidence showed that White robbed a convenience store in Cross Lanes while armed with a pistol. With his face covered by a mask, White fired shots at the ceiling of the convenience store and held two employees at gunpoint and ordered the employees to retrieve money from both the registers and a safe.
White had a prior felony in which he was convicted of first-degree robbery with a firearm in 2017. In the incident, White invaded a home and threatened to kill an 84-year-old victim.
When surveillance footage showed White as a potential suspect for the July 11, 2023, robbery, law enforcement arrived at the apartment White was staying at in Cross Lanes. At the scene, officers recovered a pistol that White had tossed from a rear window. Officers also found clothing worn by White during the robbery.
White is scheduled to be sentenced on November 21, 2024. He faces a minimum of 10 years and up to 35 years in prison.
