HURRICANE, W.Va. — A new apartment complex is coming to Hurricane, as the city, in partnership with AB Contracting Inc., broke ground on 304 at Valley Pointe Wednesday.
True to its name, 304 at Valley Pointe will feature 304 units on Teays Valley Road, directly behind Wendy’s. One, two, and three-bedroom apartments will be offered, along with a fitness center, a resort-style swimming pool, and a pickleball court.
Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards says these amenities will be highly sought after.
“It’ll have so many amenities like pickleball courts and swimming pools and conference centers and all those things, ” Edwards said at the groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday. “There’s a ton of amenities here that a lot of folks really want to take advantage of.”
Edwards also said that opening a facility like this in this climate will be beneficial.
“We have a housing crisis right now, and it will allow maybe some older folks to move out of larger houses into something like this complex where they don’t have to worry about their roof, or mowing the grass, or cleaning the gutters,” Edwards said.
Edwards, who recently saw his city open “Hurricane Bridge Park,” a sports complex that features four turf baseball fields and a nearby disc golf park, says 304 Valley Pointe will also help grow Hurricane economically.
“The economic impact will really be huge,” Edwards said. “There will be a lot of money that the city gets year over year just from the development from the tax base and all those things, it will just bring in a tremendous amount of money to Hurricane, and we’ll take that money and continue to develop more amenities for everybody that lives in our area.”
The apartment complex is set to open in early 2025.
