Eleanor, W.Va. — A Putnam County woman has a direct indictment handed down to her from a grand jury after a 2022 fire that resulted in her child’s death.
A grand jury in Putnam County returned a two-count indictment Wednesday against Megan Kincaid, stating Kincaid committed child neglect resulting in death and child neglect resulting in substantial risk of bodily injury from the fire that took place on Beach Street in Eleanor on November 10, 2022.
Kincaid’s two-year-old child died at a hospital.
A summons has been issued for Kincaid’s arrest. Once Kincaid is arrested, she will be arraigned on the charges in Putnam County Circuit Court.
There has not been any information made available on when Kincaid’s next court appearance will be.
