Clay Center announces Fall 2015 performance lineup

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Legendary acts are set to take the stage later this year in Charleston as part of the Fall 2015 performance season at the Clay Center.

Rob Rosano, the director of Theater and Sales at the Clay Center, announced the lineup at a press conference Monday. Performances will run from August 11 through December 13.

Four music legends will headline next season including Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Steve Miller Band, Willi Nelson and Grace Potter.

“It’s really, truly a great season. We know it’s going to be a success,” said Rosano.

Audiences can also expect to see Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion: The America the Beautiful Tour, Martin Short, “Mary Poppins” presented by the Charleston Light Opera Guild and Christmas with the Annie Moses Band.

Rosano said much of their success has made it easy to book top-notch talent in Charleston, but they always want to make sure they keep their lineup fresh and exciting.

“We’re certainly on the map with national booking agencies, but that being said, as we experience more success, we just set the bar higher for ourselves. We’re always trying to add something, always trying to build our audience, always trying to do something new,” he said.

The Clay Center will also feature their rising artist series “Sound Check Sessions” for a second time this year. The series was originally introduced this spring that features the latest new music from up and coming stars chosen locally and nationally.

The “Sound Check Sessions” includes Logan Brill with opening act The Fabulous Brothers Steele, The Bros. Landreth with opening act the Company Stores and Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds. Tickets are $20 for each performance.

Rosano said their plan is to continue the series beyond the fall season with about six or seven shows per year.

Single tickets for all performances will go on sale July 6 at 10 a.m. Presale begins July 1 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Clay Center box office, by phone at (304)-561-3570 or online at www.theclaycenter.org.
