BELLE, W.Va. — A shooting investigation was underway on Memorial Day in Kanawha County.
A woman, age 23, was shot in the side inside a vehicle before 6 p.m. Sunday in Belle, according to Kanawha County officials.
Early reports indicated the shooting happened on Belle’s East Central Avenue during what may have been a robbery attempt.
The shooting suspect was still on the run on Monday morning.
State Police, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department and Belle Police were involved in the investigation.
