1 dead after Huntington house fire

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A house fire in Huntington left one man dead Wednesday evening.

It happened in the 400 block of Michigan Street in the Westmoreland area just before 8 p.m., according to authorities.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they said heavy smoke and flames were present and that one person was trapped inside the home.

No word on what caused the blaze.

The man’s name has not been released at this time.
