CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A driver was injured after his SUV crashed into a Kanawha City barbershop Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at around 7 a.m. near the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue and 41st Street.
According to Charleston police, the 35-year-old driver suffered a medical episode while heading east on MacCorkle Avenue. The SUV went across the median and through the westbound lanes before crashing through the front left corner of the brick building housing KC Barbershop.
The driver was trapped in the wreckage for a few minutes and then taken to a Charleston hospital for treatment.
An excavation crew was brought in to remove the debris.
