NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. — The body of a 44-year-old Morgantown man missing near Summersville Lake has been recovered.
State police said the body Scott David Saylor was recovered from the lake around 8:20 a.m. Friday in the Battle Run Beach area.
Saylor was last seen in the area last Sunday at around 2 p.m. His body was found close to the area where he had gone swimming. A boater spotted it Friday morning. Troopers and first responders had searched the lake since early in the week with no success.
The state Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.
Foul play is not suspected.
Troopers located Saylor’s vehicle with the parking ticket which had been purchased at 4:12 pm on Sunday. The investigating trooper also located his socks, shoes, phone, sunscreen, towel and backpack under a picnic table at the end of the beach area.
